Mini Maker Faire Eindhoven 2015
The weekend of 29 and 30 August Team Rembrandts attended the Eindhoven Mini Maker Faire at the VDMA complex. Here we met up with a lot of makers and introduced everyone to FIRST and everything we do. Nearly 2,000 visitors went to the Eindhoven Maker Faire, despite the extremely hot weather; in a large hall with a glass roof rising temperatures to tropical heights. It is always fun to attend these fairs and meet people who generally don't see technology being this accessible and entertaining. One of the surprises we had on the maker faire was that FTC team ProBotiX was there too, so we had two FIRST teams representing FIRST. A lot of kids were interested in driving Brick, and while they were driving we talked to their parents about FIRST and sent them to ProBoTiX to get more information about joining an FTC team. It was a really great festival, with a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere where knowledge sharing and presentations of creations has induced many new contacts and inspirations. We also connected with a lot of companies interested in contributing to the FIRST mission, all in all it was a successful faire!
