Andromeda & Ascension

For the Destination: Deep space season we built the robots Andromeda & Ascension. With our 7th robot, we focussed on hatch panels and climbing to the 3rd level. We went for our 1st regional to the Orange County Regional. Here we managed to become rank 5 out of the 49 teams. Unfortunately, we got eliminated in the semifinals, but we had a fantastic time. Even the rain couldn't ruin the day, it made it even better. We had bought a large sail to transport our robot safely from the pits to the field. Since we were with a large group this year we helped also other teams transport the robot safely to the field by keeping them dry. During the award ceremony, we were honored with the Engineering Inspiration Award. Normally, because of this award, we would be qualified for the FIRST Championship 2019, but since we won the Engineering Inspiration award at the Daly Division at the FIRST Championship 2018, we already were qualified for the FIRST Championship 2019.

After the Orange County Regional, we went to the San Diego Regional. Here we were able to get rank 4 out of the 47 teams. Also at this regional, we got eliminated in the semifinals. But we were not only honored with 1 award, we got 2 awards. We won for the first time the Safety Award and we won the Excellence in Engineering Award.
