Resurrection & Revival

The robots for our 9th season competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition are named Resurrection & Revival. With Resurrection, we go to the South Florida Regional in West Palm Beach. Resurrection performed fantastically. We were so consistent with getting the cargo bonus for delivering 20 or more cargo into the lower hub. We got ranked 1 out of the 33 teams and won the regional which got us qualified for the FIRST Championship 2022. If that wasn’t enough we also received the Engineering Inspiration Award. After South Florida, we compete with Resurrection in the Orlando Regional.

Andromeda & Ascension

Andromeda & Ascension

For the Destination: Deep space season we built the robots Andromeda & Ascension. With our 7th robot, we focussed on hatch panels and climbing to the 3rd level. We went for our 1st regional to the Orange County Regional. Here we managed to become rank 5 out of the 49 teams. Unfortunately, we got eliminated in the semifinals, but we had a fantastic time. During the award ceremony, we were honored with the Engineering Inspiration Award. Normally, because of this award, we would be qualified for the FIRST Championship 2019, but since we won the Engineering Inspiration award at the Daly Division at the FIRST Championship 2018, we already were qualified for the FIRST Championship 2019.

Metric & Imperial

We named our sixth robot after the decimalized system of measurement we use in Europe. So, our robot’s name is “Metric”. It is only fitting that we name our second robot after the decimalized system of measurement that is used in America. So, our second robot is named “Imperial”. For the FIRST Robotics Competition game “FIRST POWERUP” we went with our robot “Metric” to the Palmetto Regional in Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, and to the Orlando Regional in Orlando, Florida.

William & The Syndic

The robots for our 5th year competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition are named William & The Syndic. William wasn’t related to the game FIRST STEAMWORKS or to Rembrandt van Rijn. After the 2016 competitions, we received some sad news. After hearing the news about William Pijnenburg passing our hearts were filled with sorrow. William Pijnenburg was managing director of AAE. So, as an honorable mention to never forget his efforts in the name of AAE for Team Rembrandts. The Syndic was named after a paint form Rembrandt van Rijn. It also fits with the game. With our robot “William” we went to the South Florida Regional in West Palm beach. After that, we went to the Orlando Regional in Orlando.

De Ruyter & De Witt

De Ruyter & De Witt

For our fourth year competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition, we were able to build 2 of the same robots, thanks to our partners. We named the robots “De Ruyter” & “De Witt”. De Ruyter is named after a Dutch Admiral “Michiel de Ruyter”. Who lived in the same period as Rembrandt van Rijn and because this year’s game is FIRST STRONGHOLD. It fits very well with our robot. De Witt was a good friend of Michiel de Ruyter, so it is was fitting to name the second robot after him. With the “De Ruyter”, we went for the FIRST time in our history to 2 regionals. New York City Regional in New York was our FIRST regional. After that, we went to the New York Tech Valley Regional in Troy.

Brick

Brick is our third robot and was build for the 2015 Recycle Rush season. Unlike the previous robots, we didn’t name our third robot after something related to de Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn. At the start of the 2015 building season, we received some sad news. Our hearts were filled with sorrow on hearing the news about Ben Poole passing. Ben has meant a lot for us when he was a mentor for team 122 – NASA Knights. Without him even knowing, he made Team Rembrandts what it currently is.

Rembrandt

Rembrandt was our first robot for the FIRST Robotics Competition. Just as we named our team after the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn, we named our robot as a tribute to him, “Rembrandt”. Rembrandt was built during the 2013 building season for the game “Ultimate Ascent”.
